Hair clips

After having my little monkey, who was born with a head full of hair. I decided that I would have to either buy or make hair clips for her. So that lead me on the quest to find the perfect hair clips. After making many others clips for friends, I finally got around to making some for Sophie.   Here are some of my creations. I was fortunate to find these wonderful website which provided the instructions on how to make them. So due credit goes to...Girly Things Bows and also Hip Girl Boutique

I will be posting at a latter date, some of these clips being modeled and also instructions how to make a few other styles.

Easter

Sophie is modeling the easter bunny in her hair. I was able to keep it in her hair with a strip of a hot glue gun on the inside of the clip. And the best secreat of all, I used a clear elastic to ensure she couldn't pull it out.

Christmas
My husband acutulley made this one for family home evening one night.

This penguin can be altered and made into a yellow chicken instead for easter.

Pretty Hair clips for Spring

For this flower clip. I just went to Micheals Craft store and purchased a gerber. Removed the stem and center piece. Due to laziness, I just hot glued each layer of the flower back together. And glued rhinestones to the front. I then lined a alligator clip (How to line an alligator clip).  How you can wear the flower is endless!! You can clip it to a cloth headband, directly in your hair, or clip into on a beanie cap. I will be posting at a later day how to make crocheted beanie caps for these type of flowers. I am just perfecting the process.

Spring Bug Collection
I can find the original website that I used for making this clip. But I will find it soon and post it!! Or provide additional instructions at a latter point if someone want to learn

Dragon Flie's
Lady Bugs

I found the instructions for both of these clips at Hip Girl Clips. This website does request that you join but it is free and I haven't had any issues with solicitating since joining them a year ago.

Daddies and babysitting

Terry busted his toe today while at work and was apparently not feeling too great. I left Sophie with Terry for about an  hour to pick up groceries. To ocome home to a child dressed in only a diaper, socks and robeez. I ask what happened, Terry's reply welll.... she got into the peanut butter and covered herself in peanutbutter because  I wasn't paying attention to her.  I laughed and asked if he got a picture. Upon closer inspection of my darling little girl, I notice that she has orange scribbles on her tummy.. I ask him again, what happen? Weren't you watching her, his reply wellll.... while I was holding her and watching her as she wrote on herself... During this discussion the little monster starts unloading the groceries and opens a package of oreagano and spreads it on the floor and starts to stamp on it with a giant smile on her face. She then grabs a cucumber and proceeds with her little vampire teeth to chomp on it. These are the precious moments that are to be remembered.

Shortly after unloading the grocery cart, Sophie decides to put on Terry's shoes and starts to attempt to walk around our apartment similar to a old man shuffle. With a huge grin on her face... our first reaction is to get the camera so we can capture these moments.

My condo normally isn't his messy but I had also left a load of laundry on the floor before leaving.

Even though today has been particulary tough due to preparing for a final exam, and paper. Having this moment with both my husband and daugther reminded me of how important life is and we should always treasure these moments.

Life and its suprises..

Thanks to  both Jennifers, I have become addicted to blogs!!  So I have decided to start posting the things, I love, the things I hate and the things I love to make and everything in between.

Just to give you a heads up on who I am. I am a mother of two beatiful children. But as you will notice from my blog that only one appears in the pictures. We had a gorgeous little boy named, Jacob Emerson Rogers who was born on December 12, 2006. Unfortuently, he passed away for hyperplastic left heart syndrome, a very unusal and rare heart condition. We were blessed to have him in our lives after trying for a few years and after I was told as a teenager that I would probley never have children. Jacob unfortuently, passed away December 15th, 2006 when he was three days old after having open heart surgey where upon his heart could not deal with the stress. As in our religious beliefs, Jacob is now in heaven being the little missionary we new he would be. Teaching the gospel to those around him. I am so happy to know that we will be someday together again since familes are for enternity.

We have since been blessed after fertility treatment with a darling little girl, Sophia Scarlett Rogers, born on August 12, 2008. She is the joy of our lives.  She is in the racoon stage of getting into everything and delighting us everyday with her expanding vocabulary.

As of wednesday,  I will be returning back to work full time again. I have been unemployed for the past couple of months due to changes within the economy. But I have now been blessed with hopefully a wonderful job that will help me providing for my family  and pay for all my little crafts that I have been working on lately.   But it is nice to have the plan back in motion and keep my fingers crossed that this year will bring another suprise for us if we so lucky.
